Philip Hawner M.D., F.A.C.S., has been practicing plastic surgery in Longview, Texas since 1997. He makes it his goal to give each of his patients a personalized and satisfying clinical experience in their pursuit of self-improvement. Besides serving patients in the local area, many patients have traveled from around the country in order to benefit from his surgical and aesthetic expertise. Dr. Hawner specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and body. He provides his patients with the latest surgical techniques, a naturally artistic eye, and medical training from some of the nation’s renowned institutions.
Dr. Hawner is a 1987 graduate of the University of Virginia, majoring in Economics, and a 1991 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, where he received his M.D. Subsequently, Dr. Hawner completed a three year general surgery residency at Tulane University’s Medical Center in New Orleans. From 1994 to 1995, he served as Clinical Burn Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, and completed a plastic surgery residency at the University of Mississippi in 1997. He holds state medical licenses in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Dr. Hawner obtained board certification in plastic surgery in 1999, and participates in the American Board of Medical Specialties Maintenance of Certification. This program of life-long learning requires participants to use the most current evidence-based guidelines and standards along with continuous self-assessment to give patients quality clinical outcomes in a patient-centered environment. Dr. Hawner is also an active member of the Texas Medical Association, Gregg/Upshur County Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
